Obituary

Wilson Lawrence "Bill" Guynn, 87 of Madisonville, Kentucky went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 21 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born February 2, 1937, in Buffalo, New York to the late Marie E. Nichols Guynn and Wilson L Guynn Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Rose "Rosie" Guynn, and son, Jeff Guynn.

Bill was a gunsmith and owner of Madisonville Gunrack. He also served in the US Army as a paratrooper and between the years of the Army and business owner, he held different company positions as a maintenance mechanic and a coal miner. He was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church where he held leadership roles in both the Men's Ministry and the Sunshiners group. He was active in the church and loved the Lord. He enjoyed writing poetry about his faith. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time outdoors, mostly in the woods hunting. He often commented that this was where he felt closest to the Lord. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Mountain Men. He was a man of many talents with deep dedication to his interests and his family.

Bill is survived by his sons, Bill Guynn III, Donnie (Tijuana) Guynn of Madisonville; daughter, Pam (John) Stewart of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Ashleigh Guynn, Morgan Guynn, April Brown, Shayna Renfro, Chris Guynn, Josh Stewart, Jared Stewart, and Jenna Stewart; sisters, Wendy Williams and Carol Corah of Buffalo, New York; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at 2:00PM at Grapevine Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Partin officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery where the Hopkins County Honor Guard will provide graveside military honors.

Visitation will be from 10:00AM Tuesday November 26, 2024, at Grapevine Baptist Church.
