Sherry Melton, 83, of Providence, KY passed away on Friday September 18, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville, KY.

She was born on December 6, 1942, in Owensboro, KY, the daughter of the late Mr. Charles Greenwell and Mrs. Alice Crask Greenwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Drury Melton on January 14, 2025.

Mrs. Melton was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Providence, she enjoyed reading, Bargain hunting, taking care of her cats, and was a domestic engineer.

She is survived by her daughters, Samantha (Jeff) Kelley of Dixon, KY; Mary (Jamie) Ray of Providence, KY; and her son, Charles Melton of Madisonville, KY; her grandchildren, Joshua Charles Melton, Jordan (Dara) Kelley, Adleigh Ray, Isabella Hardesty, Delaney Kelley, Zach (Melanie) Ray, and her great grandchildren, Rian and Leilanie.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00PM on Monday September 21, 2026, at Victory Baptist Church in Providence with Bro. Andy Corbin officiating. Graveside services will take place on Tuesday September 22, 2026, at 11:00AM in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro, KY

Visitation will be from 3:00PM until the service hour on Monday September 21, 2026, at the church.
