Obituary

Doris Carol David,81, of Providence passed away on Tuesday January 9, 2024, at Dawson Springs Health and Rehab.

She was born on October 8, 1942, the daughter of the late Ms. Zella Goff. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward David in 2015, her son, Derek David in 2021, her siblings, Jean Robertson, Gladys Baize, Wanda Franklin. Her brother, Charlie Autry, grandson, Randy Mercer, great granddaughter, Libby Dailey.

She enjoyed gardening, playing with her cat, she worked at York until it shut down, and retired from Whirlpool in Evansville. After she retired, she worked at Wal-Mart.

She is survived by her daughters, Terry (Don) Dailey of Clarksville, TN;  Debra Simmons of Evansville, IN; and Debbie Pingleton of Madisonville, KY; her brothers, James Robert Holder, Roy (Sylvia) Holder all of Evansville, IN; her daughter in law, Jennifer David of Providence, KY; grandchildren, Michael (Ashleigh) Pingelton, Brittany (Allen) Hatton, Travis (Danielle) Dailey, Justin Dailey, Taylor Denae David, and James Edward David,  great grandchildren, Willow Hatton, Brock Dailey, Madison Pingleton, Wrenna Dailey, and several nieces and nephews .

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, on Thursday January 11, 2024, in the chapel of Melton Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Stewart officiating. A burial will follow in the Big Hill Cemetery in Providence, KY.

Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
