Derek James David, 44, of Providence, KY passed away on November 9, 2021, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Derek was born on April 6, 1977, in Madisonville, KY the son of Mrs. Doris Hohimer David and the late Mr. James Edward David.

Derek worked in the Fire Protection Industry for 24 years, he was a member of the Providence City Council, he was a member of the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, boating, politics, and shooting guns.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jennifer of Providence, KY; his daughter, Taylor Denae David, his son, James Edward David both of Providence, KY; his sisters, Terry (Don) Dailey of Clarksville, TN; Debbie Ruth Pingleton of Madisonville, KY; and Debbie Sue Simmons of Evansville, IN; his nephew, Michael (Ashleigh) Pingleton; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be on Sunday November 14, 2021, at 3:00PM in the chapel of Melton Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Dyer and Derek's father- in- law Bro. Mike Stewart officiating with burial to follow in Big Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00PM until 3:00PM on Sunday November 14, 2021, at Melton Funeral Home.
