Charles H. Young, 82, of Hanson, KY passed away on June 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Young was born on February 24, 1937 in Fruit Hill, KY the son of the late Elbert Young and Lola Duvall Young. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Young was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, he served three terms as Mayor of Hanson, KY, he worked 20 years at Peabody Coal Co. Vogue Mine, member of the Hanson Lodge # 766 F & AM, he was a member of the Rizpah Temple where he was a former member of the "Cut Ups" he enjoyed fishing and spoiling his grandchildren.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda of Hanson, KY; two daughters, Pana Carver of Madisonville, KY; Karen (Robey) Blankenship of Hanson, KY, one son, Charlie (Tammy) Young of Hanson, KY; one brother, Dutch (Jessie) Young of Hopkinsville, KY, and two sisters, Janey and Dorothy both of Hopkinsville, KY his grandchildren, Kristi (Brian) Johnson, Ginger and Lindsay Carver, Michelle (Jamie) Moore, Joshua (Amber) Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Tristan Blankenship, Cecily(Jeremy) Harris, Austin (Breanna) Young and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday June 17, 2019 at Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville, KY with Dr. Mark Partin officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 17, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the service hour at Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville with Masonic rites being held at 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Austin Young, Josh Mitchell, Tristan Blankenship, Eric Mitchell, C. J. Manis, and Robey Blankenship. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ginger and Lindsay Carver.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital envelopes will be available at the church.
